About the Author Diana Finlay Hendricks

An accomplished editor, writer, reporter, and photographer for more than 20 years in magazine, newspaper and public relations, Diana has earned statewide and national awards for reporting and photography. She is a frequent contributor to Lone Star Music magazine and the Journal of Texas Music History. In addition to regular contributions to state and regional magazines, she is currently writing the Delbert McClinton biography, and collaborating on two book projects in the fields of Texas music and culture. For 23 years, she was the co-owner of Cheatham Street Warehouse, a historic music venue in San Marcos. Nationally known artists have spent countless nights on that rustic stage including George Strait, Randy Rogers, Charlie and Will Sexton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Marcia Ball, Delbert McClinton, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Willie Nelson. Diana holds a Master of Arts degree with an emphasis in Texas music and culture, and a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Texas music history and creative writing, both from Texas State University.
