Robyn Ludwick’s snarly new rock ’n’ roll album, This Tall to Ride, won’t be released until May, but fans at the Lone Star Music / KOKE-FM “Dillo Mixer” at Threadgill’s last Friday during South By Southwest week got an advance listen to a handful of the Wimberley-based singer-songwriter’s latest songs — including the new album’s opening track, “Love You For It.” Ludwick was accompanied by her husband Lunchmeat on bass, Kevin McKinney (of Soulhat fame) on lead guitar, Ed Jarusinsky on drums, and Australia’s Yasmindi on acoustic guitar and harmonies.
Other performers at the Dillo Mixer this year included Shinyribs, Walt Wilkins, the Band of Heathens, Sunny Sweeney, Chris Fullerton, Shane Cooley & the Midnight Girls, the Railhouse Band, and the Jibs.
